Both were hugely successful and we’re excited to develop the theme over a whole week. The second is Baking in English. Our baking workshops have always been popular and people have suggested for many years that we schedule this course. Well, here goes!

Most of our students come to Nab Cottage by public transport. Some get to explore the area on Saturdays or for a day or two at the beginning or the end of their language course and we wonder if we can inspire you to extend your holiday for a few days to make the most of this UNESCO World Heritage area. Although Nab Cottage is in the centre and the villages of Grasmere and Ambleside are easily accessible there are other beautiful villages you could stay in nearby. Take a look at this high profile travel blogger Chloe Gunning. She says the Lake District is one of her favourite destinations to visit without a car. The Lonely Planet travel guide ambassador, with an online audience of almost a quarter of a million, made a four day trip to this area late last year. She travelled around the Ullswater area on foot, by bike, boat, canoe and took the odd bus.
